Welcome to My Web Site

It's hard for me to believe that the holiday season is here again.  So far ours has been unusual.  Al and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary on different sides of the country.  One of our dogs was not feeling well so Al stayed home to be with her while I went on the road.  Hannah has been in and out of the hospital and is doing pretty well now.  But on the Sunday I was heading home, Al called to say that he had found our little Rosie dead.  I don't really feel like we had an anniversary this year.  We both spent it crying.  We had been so worried about Hannah, that it never occurred to us that it would be Rose.  We know she had a great life with us, but its still hard to lose one of your little buddies.  Just because they leave your life, doesn't mean they ever leave your heart.  (You can read more about how Rosie found us through the Humane Society Link on the Home Page.)

Thanksgiving was a blessing, our whole family was here.  Boyfriends, girlfriends, aunts, uncles...the whole deal.  I was watching Paula Deen's cooking show a few days before Thanksgiving and she was reminding everyone that Thanksgiving is not the day to try and be Julia Child Y'All.  Do what you know.  Don't try anything new.  Of course if you're a mother, you know your family never wants anything new for Thanksgiving.  Even though Aunt Joni makes the most incredible cranberries, Courtney still always insists that I make mine.  None of us will get Aunt Joni's cranberry recipe until she is on her death bed.  But I herewith relinquish my recipe.  Courtney eats it like its soup right out of the bowl.  It's so easy you've gotta love it.

Love,
